GRANTED: Announcing my next 3 books

April 2021
Now that spring is here, I wanted the Granted community to be the first to know about my new books:

Happy April Fools' Day! I do hate being typecast...
Now, onto our regularly scheduled programming, experimenting with a new format:
1. A thought
The hallmark of curiosity is a thirst for knowledge that has no obvious utility. Being a lifelong learner is taking joy in exploration regardless of whether the discovery has immediate relevance. The goal is to understand for the sake of understanding.
2. Some data
Job postings with a 4-day work week have tripled since 2018, but they’re still less than 1% of jobs
In 22/23 classrooms, narcissistic kids got more leadership nominations and claimed to be better leaders—even though they weren't
Asian-Americans are underrepresented in leadership roles
3. To read
Persuading the Unpersuadable
What I learned from the science—and the people who managed to sway Steve Jobs.
4. To listen
My latest debates with Malcolm Gladwell—rethinking 10,000 hours, whether facial cues are reliable signals of emotions, the moral responsibility to keep an open mind, how (not) to hire a babysitter, and our last feud about whether comedians or teachers are better intuitive psychologists.
5. To join
I'll be live on Clubhouse with Dax Shepard tomorrow and with Esther Perel on Tuesday. Thanks to Kat Cole for hosting.
In solidarity,
Adam Grant, Ph.D.
Organizational psychologist at Wharton, author of THINK AGAIN, ORIGINALS, GIVE AND TAKE, and OPTION B, and host of WorkLife, a TED original podcast
