WONDERING: When Strengths are Overused and Fun is Overdone

August 2018

When we seek advice, we rarely want to be told which option to choose. We're usually seeking guidance on how to approach the decision.

The best advice doesn't specify what to do. It highlights blind spots in our thinking and helps us clarify our priorities.

With that in mind, here are my thoughts on three of your questions from this month and resources on seven others:

  • Which currently hot business advice or trend do you think is suspect?

  • How should I tell my colleagues that mandatory fun isn’t fun for me—when I come to work I want to work?

  • Can an organization be a giver, taker, or matcher?

Cheers,
Adam
